Gerhart Leaving Stanford For NFL Draft

Toby Gerhart announced Friday that he will enter the NFL draft instead of staying at Stanford for a fifth season, according to an Associated Press report. Gerhart thanked coach Jim Harbaugh, former running backs coach Willie Taggart and his offensive linemen for helping his success this season. He could have stayed for a fifth season because he played just one game in 2007 because of injuries, but opted for the NFL instead.

Three More Gators Enter NFL Draft

Florida has another three underclassman heading to the NFL. Gators defensive end Carlos Dunlap, safety Major Wright and center Maurkice Pouncey announced their intentions Monday, joining cornerback Joe Haden and tight end Aaron Hernandez in leaving school early. However, guard Mike Pouncey plans to return for his senior year. "Mike has a great future ahead of him," offensive line coach Steve Addazio said in a statement. "I believe he will be the top returning offensive lineman in America. Coming back just gives him another opportunity to grow as a player and as a leader and will help him increase his positional versatility. Without question, Mike's future is very bright."

Bama's McClain Skips Senior Year For Draft

Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain announced Monday that he is skipping his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. McClain won the Butkus Award this season as the top linebacker in college football. "I'm going to leave the university pretty satisfied with what I've done here," said McClain, who led Alabama with 105 tackles and 14.5 stops for losses in 2009. RealGM's Jeff Risdon lists McClain as the 11th pick in his latest mock draft.

Gators CB Haden To Enter Draft

Florida junior cornerback Joe Haden announced on Sunday that he has declared for the NFL Draft. Haden is rated as one of the top cornerback prospects in the draft. "This was a tough decision, and I spent a lot of time with my family talking about it," said Haden. "I'm so proud that I had the chance to be a Gator. It's been one of the best experiences of my life. Coach [Urban] Meyer and coach [Vance] Bedford have helped me in so many ways. I'll always be thankful to them for everything, and I know I'll never forget the fans in Gator Nation."

Berry Leaving Tennessee For NFL

Tennessee safety Eric Berry has decided to skip his senior season and enter the NFL Draft. Berry said after Thursday night's Chick-fil-A Bowl loss to Virginia Tech that he played his final college game. "I really did go over every possible situation and scenario," Berry said. "I went over it with my coach, I went over it with my parents. Coach just told me this would probably be the best thing for me to do, just to go ahead and go to the draft."
